The girl who ended up at the bottom of my contact list.

This charming, brilliant and ever smiling girl often ends up at the bottom of her friends contact list. It’s not because the features mentioned above are exaggerated, but because of her name. For obvious reasons the contact lists are always sorted in the alphabetically ascending order. If this pre programmed rule could be overridden, I wouldn’t deny moving this contact to the top positions in the list. The reason is because I often call and receive calls from this contact. Once on a boring day when I was absolutely jobless, I was assigning pictures to the different contacts in my list. This picture pops up when you receive a call from the person whom you have assigned it to. I finished assigning appropriate pictures to all the contacts; I still had one more contact left to assign a image. I was confused with what kind of image would suit this person. There were various images like a football, a joker, a sea horse, some funny faces, a palm tree, a heart, a house etc. I was wondering what kind of image would suit this person. I still felt the need of assigning an appropriate image for this contact. I drilled down to a flower and a koala bear face. Naturally I would have assigned this flower to this girl, but I chose to go with the koala bear.

A koala bear, you would certainly get cross with me for putting a bear face against a sweet girls name. But still I felt that I had done the right thing.

Seeing a person for the first time and knowing them better, brings out a picture in your mind. The very first time you assume things and them later those initial assumptions and guesses coagulate or they might just change with time. I haven’t known her much at the time I was setting this contact images.

A koala bear always seems to be confused, sluggish and lacks the mettle to trust anyone. Some days you find a sparkle in their eyes and some days a drop of tear is clearly visible.

As days passed by, and as we became good friends I knew she was much more inclined to the koala bear rather than a flower. A flower just withers up in extreme conditions, but a koala bear can be trusted with secrets. I found this friend to be more trust worthy than many of the other similar kind that I could find around me. So after many days I was happy that I could choose an appropriate contact image for my friend much before knowing her better.

Speaking of contact lists and mobiles, this person has a penchant for loosing mobiles at all the places she has been to. I still hope she has her mobile in possession to lift the call the time I give ring the koala bear.
