Birthday Bumps

It was 9 August. We all had tight schedules at work and had plans to blast off on that Friday night. Co incidentally it was Prashant’s Birthday. We all secretly devised a plan to give birthday bumps as hard as ever to the strong guy. It was a bit late in the evening when we left the work place. We went straight to Dan Murphy to get some bottles of whiskey and rum with Sinjith, our manager and Lijo. As soon as we reached home, a half bottle was gulped down by Sinith and we were waiting for Ajit to arrive and join the party. Lijo was drunk and was soon rolling on the bed and Sinjith had to leave as he had a train to catch.
It was just 20 more minutes to 12:00 AM. Even the birthday boy, Prashant was under a heavy blanket holding on to his mobile. Even I was on the bed trying to catch some sleep. Just as I was about to sleep, Prashant’s ‘mofile’ started ringing and it was followed by a series of wishes from the country and abroad. The time was 1.00 AM and still there were no signs of Ajit.
Some sounds at midnight woke me up from my good sleep and I saw Ajit gulping down a few bottles all by himself. It was just because Lijo dint wait for Ajit to join the drinks party and wanted to take a sweet vengeance by drinking all alone at night.
Then it was morning, I presume. Ajit’s mobile kicked us out of our good sleeps. I could hear Lijo shouting some thing in his sleep. Probably he was curing that damn ‘mobeel’. By morning Ajit was gone again.
We all geared up for the days activities. We all wished Prashanth a ‘Happy Birthday’ and waited for his treat and forgetting the bumps for ever.
