The memories of England were revived when I visited the Portland Lighthouse in New England. The reason for this place being called New England was strikingly evident from the architecture in the place.
The Portland lighthouse is located in Portland, Maine. This place seems to be discovered by the Irish settlers. The waters connected the land to the Atlantic Ocean. Boats and yachts’ touring the waters was a wonderful sight. The location also had a battery where 12" cannons protected the land against attacks from the sea.
