During my tenure at Sensis, we used to have coffee breaks daily. A coffee in the morning and more caffeine in the afternoons was a must for everyone to keep us going. But soon these breaks were forgotten and the coffee mugs were disposed. But again, the good days seems to have returned, breaks in the morning, lunch and post lunch was very common. A plethora of topics were being discussed over a cup of coffee. A call from one of the friends for a cup of coffee was imminent while I read each and every word from ‘The Age’. I never even cared to neither lock my desktop nor switch the monitor off while I was away. The most exciting thing in the coffee break is the coffee preparation. Most of my friends sometimes give me the opportunity to prepare the coffee for them. After a few times of preparation, the amount of sugar and the colour of coffee they like are well known to me. Many a times, we go down the road to enjoy a cup of coffee. The best thing that might go with a cup of tea or coffee is the cigarette. My misconception of a cookie or a biscuit being the irreplaceable mishmash with the coffee was soon replaced by a cigarette. Even though I never smoked, the gratification found on the faces of smokers enthralled me often, but still I lacked the courage to light a fire into my mouth.
Tring.. Tring.. a call from my friend. Before I could utter any words from my mouth, I could hear just one word, ‘come’ before he just hung up. Anybody who experiences this for the first time will go crazy, but this was happening with me for the last 3 weeks. So I just gave this finishing touch to this blog and just walked out for the coffee.
Hope you loved reading about my coffee break, now it’s your time for a break
