Babu learns to cook

I have never seen my room mate Babu in the kitchen neither near it nor accompanied us to the supermarket. One day we sent him to the near by supermarket, Coles to get some stuff for home. No particular item was mentioned to him, but I expected him to buy some vegetables, milk and some bread. He came back home and later when I checked the bags; it was full of chocolates and chocolates alone. I couldn’t resist shouting at him for doing such a thing.
Many days later, Prashanth and I stopped eating a heavy dinner. We started eating bread and fruits for dinner. So Prashanth nor I never cared to cook anything for the dinner. But Babu cannot survive a day with out eating rice. He always starts singing when ever he sees rice being heaped on to his plate. This kind of rice eater went mad when the kitchen flames were not lit for more than a week.
Then the man himself set foot in the kitchen, put some rice in the cooker and dared to cook his very first dish, the Rasam. He was delighted to see the rasam turn out into the brown salty water. He was proud of this accomplishment and asked Prashanth and me to taste this Rasam. We heaped our compliments even thought it was not so great in taste according to us.
Day after day, he used to come to the kitchen and I used to instruct him what to do. After a few days, he turned into a better cook and his food was worth tasting.
I still wonder how 'Michael Learnt to Rock'
